Exceptions...
Today was a day full of exceptions. I woke up at 10am. I haven’t done that since senior prom. I then finished one paper well before tomorrow’s deadline. I then proceeded to go tree shopping, get groceries, finish a project for Peter’s class 12 hours before its due, and bake a batch of cookies and rolls. I feel quite accomplished for doing all of this AND sleeping in until 10.

St. Davids
March 1 is St. Davids Day in Wales. For those of you who follow Jay’s blog, he wrote about our first St. Davids Day three years ago. He asked me to write about our St. Davids Day three years from now. Hmm…I honestly wish I could say I knew what three years from now will look like. However…who knows with Jay and I…I see us, together…making welsh cakes and glamorgan...

When we're old.
Today I was hoping yet again the USCIS would make up its freaking mind. No such luck. However, I did see something that made me quite happy. I have been working out trying to get myself into wedding dress shape. There is an older couple in their mid to late 60’s who often work out the same times I do. They are so adorable. They each work out separately and then do certain exercises together....
Valentines is just another day.
I have always been a firm believer that Valentines is a commercialized dumpster of a holiday. If you love someone they should know how special they are to you every day. This year is no exception. I do however get Jay a card and write a nice little note in it. And I don’t want to expect any gifts in return…I know he’s planned an amazing honeymoon…Is it August yet?? Either...
Compliments...
It it not very often that I know a compliment when I see one…or perhaps they are just that few and far between…either way I got two of the best compliments to date from two very dear friends today.
1. While texting with Ali C. she informed me that she needs me…in man form. Love it. I am not sure the world could handle a man version of me…or am I already a man version of...

Go Fiance Go.
Every day Jay makes me proud. This Saturday he going to make not only me, but his whole family proud. Nearly one year ago, Jays dad, John Lennon was taken from us all far too soon. He was a wonderful, gentle and hilarious man. I may have only known him briefly, but I am so thankful for him making Jay who he is today. I see so much of John’s personality in Jay and I can only hope he will be...

Dec. 5
Today as I sat in class…avoiding at all costs our over-energetic APA citation speaker I was skyping with Jay. I suddenly realised that I have yet to find a florist and lock down a caterer. Crap. Just when I think I’m getting ahead of this wedding stuff something comes and kicks me in the shins. Then I found out how much bouquets and boutonnieres cost. I am going to become a self...

This week has been full of Loen Family craziness. I have been blessed with a beautiful new niece Elyse Harper Loen. I thought that this post that my friend Mateya posted on her blog was a perfect fit for this weekend. Mom and I did lots of wedding things, one of which including doing arts and crafts while drinking copious amounts of wine. This wine drinking led to Dad and I drinking even more...

Support suicide prevention locally!!
The Helpline Center has been receiving some questions about the suicide prevention walk this weekend and I thought it was important to clarify. The walk being held this weekend is not affiliated with the Helpline Center at all, it is sponsored by a national organization. The Helpline Center will not receive any of the funds raised from this walk to support our local services.
The Helpline...
Take that USCIS.
Tonight marks a monumental night. After months of frustration and confusion I submitted our marriage visa paperwork. South Dakota does not have immigration lawyers in abundance…let alone those who are affordable. Jay and I have been fortunate through our connections to have people who care about us and give us guidance. Throughout all of our struggles in putting together this document I...

Ugh.
This is my attempt at getting back into the blogosphere. The past 2.5 weeks have been amazing. I am always so much happier with Jay around. We got a lot accomplished, spent time with friends and family and got a preview into our married life together. This past weekend two of my dear friends tied the knot. It was so much fun spending time with all of our friends and dancing (drinking) the...
Christmas Come Early.
Today Christmas came early. Not only did I get to come home to my fiance, but I found Slow Clubs new album online for free. It doesn’t drop til Sept. 12. Thats how good I am. They are easily one of my favorite bands. If you have not heard their previous album, ‘Yeah, So’ you are missing out. So here is the link. I hope it makes you half as happy as it is making me right...

Hello old love...
Tonight I rekindled a lost relationship. This relationship has been lost for over a year now. I think its funny that I didn’t realize how much I missed that connection until it was practically smacking me in the face. Janelle and I were on a walk one evening watching the hot air balloons sail over Sioux Falls and discussing our lack of work outs. She mentioned how she wanted to try yoga....

Farewell Harry Potter
Today marked the conclusion of a very long relationship. Harry Potter and I have been quite close for several years now. It all started when I was 16. My mom started reading these dorky books and I relentlessly teased her about how nerdy she was for reading Harry Potter. Then on one fateful trip home from Rapid City I picked up HP and the Sorcerer’s Stone. I then continued to eat my...

Polar Plunge...
I am a spontaneous and crazy person. This is a fairly well known fact. However, that being said, I would have never imagined I would sign up for something like this. My classmate Kelli asked our cohort to be a part of the Polar Plunge to raise money for the Special Olympics. Only three of us were brave enough to sign up. Its a good cause and you get to dress up in costumes, so of course...

Going the Distance.
Tonight Janelle and I snuggled up with some Prairie Berry Calamity Jane, Roman Raspberry sorbet, Ritz cheese crackers and a movie. The chosen movie was Going the Distance with Drew Barrymore and Justin Long. However I much preferred to watch Christina Applegate and Charlie from Always Sunny in their hilarious supporting roles. It was a pretty funny movie overall…there were a few LOL...
Life.
As many of you know the past few weeks have been crap. I know the old adage is that ‘when it rains it pours,’ but I am sick of the torrential downpour. And if a person can’t bitch on their online blog, where can they? However, I will spare my loyal readers from a vent-fest. All that needs to be known is that I am pulling my life back together starting tomorrow. Thanks to everyone...

Random Thoughts by yours truly...
Norwex cloths are amazing. I am the only person that could get heat rash in February. I would like to know how many hours of my life I have spent wearing my Camp Foster tie-dyed long sleeve. I love my new comforter. I like to leave my clothes in the dryer for atleast a day and pretend that they aren’t there because I hate putting laundry away. Having extra cream cheese frosting my house...
