This is my attempt at getting back into the blogosphere. The past 2.5 weeks have been amazing. I am always so much happier with Jay around. We got a lot accomplished, spent time with friends and family and got a preview into our married life together. This past weekend two of my dear friends tied the knot. It was so much fun spending time with all of our friends and dancing (drinking) the night away. The next day was crap. Jay was hungover. We drove all the way from Aberdeen, SD to Omaha, NE. It was also our last day together until our visa paperwork gets approved. This process generally takes 6-8 months. Great. So today as I compiled a scrapbook of the past 2.5 years of our relationship, I got some odd looks from my fellow classmates. I sarcastically said, ‘What? You didn’t have to prove your relationship’s validity to the US Government before you got married?’ This led to more odd looks and some uncomfortable laughter until I explained myself. I am finding the whole process hard to navigate, frustrating and invasive. I am not saying Jay isn’t worth every bit, (because he is) but it is ridiculous.
